How to Turn a Kitchen Cabinet into a Bin There are several ways to turn your kitchen cupboard into a recycling bin, with a great selection of products for cabinets with pull-out doors, hinged doors and options suitable to fit under sinks. How you fit your bin will largely depend on what kind of cupboard you’re installing it into, as the corresponding bin units will have different frames and measurements. Where to Install Your Integrated Bin While most people probably don’t have a spare cupboard that doesn't get used at all, you might have one that doesn’t make the most of its storage potential and would serve you better when repurposed as a bin. Where you install a bin in your existing kitchen will likely come down to your layout and the dimensions of your cabinets. If you have a 600mm-wide cupboard you can spare, this will allow you to fit some of our biggest capacity bins, ensuring you won’t have to empty rubbish as frequently. However, you’d be surprised by how much capacity even a narrow 300mm cabinet can hold. If you can devote a cabinet like this to a bin, you can have up to 40 litres of recycling capacity ingeniously hidden inside. Measuring Up for Your Kitchen Bin When you’re choosing an in-cupboard bin, you’ll first need to establish three key measurements that’ll indicate which bin you can fit. These include: Cabinet width (internal and external) Cabinet height (typical cabinets are usually 680mm) Cabinet depth (kitchen cabinets are generally somewhere between 450mm and 600mm) We stock an extensive range of products to fit numerous cabinet sizes, so you will likely find something to fit your cupboards even if they have non-standard measurements. How to Install In-Cupboard Bins for Cabinets with Pull-Out Doors Bins for cabinets with pull-out doors are a precise fit to the internal width of the cabinet. Where we say bins for 400mm doors, for example, that is the starting point to identify the size of base unit or cabinet that the model is designed to fit, but from there it’s important to check that your internal width is correct for the product. For instance, the internal width for a cabinet with a 400mm wide door is likely to be within a tolerance of 362-368mm, which the bin needs to fit to in order to function properly. Once you’ve checked the internal width, please then check the internal depth you have, from front inner edge to the back panel or wall, as depth is the dimension which varies most across cabinets and also bin models. Finally check the height inside the cabinet, you may have the full height to devote to a bin, but if you have a top drawer or simply don’t need the tallest capacity bins, there are lower height models to choose from. Most of our pull-out products come with soft-close runners to allow for easy operation. You will need to fit these runners to the sides of the cabinet casing, which can take some skill as you’ll need to ensure they are level. You will also need to attach the bin unit to the back of your cabinet door, again ensuring everything is properly aligned. All of our bins for cabinets with pull-out doors come with instructions or fitting templates specific to each model to ensure installation is as straightforward as possible. Pull-Out In-Cupboard Bins Frequently Asked Questions We are often asked about these particular points: Can I convert a hinged door cabinet to a pull-out? In principle you can remove a door from its hinges so that it becomes a panel to apply to the front of a bin unit for pull-out doors. One issue is that if you have a handle down one side of the door, this may not be ideal over years of pulling out a finely-balanced pull-out bin, which are best pulled out from the centre of the door, but if you can alter the handle position, or possibly create a routing or groove for pulling out, this will help. I have an in-frame cabinet: how do I fit a pull-out bin? The key dimension here is the width of the ‘exit’ through the frame, which will be the door width. Because the bin unit needs to pull out through the frame, this width will determine the size of the bin unit to fit. If the internal cabinet width is wider than the width of the frame/door, you will need to line or batten the inside cabinet sides to achieve the correct fitting width for the bin model. For example, if you have a 600mm base unit with a framed door, you will likely need a bin unit from the section for ‘500mm doors’, because these will fit to an internal width of 462-468mm and therefore should pull out through the frame. One point to check here is with doors which may have a thinner central panel – if the door has a thicker surround, this needs to be wide enough to accommodate secure fixing of the door brackets. My cabinet is a non-standard size: can I fit a bin for pull-out doors? The internal width of a cabinet is the key dimension in determining which bin unit you can fit. If you have a bespoke or unusual internal width, you should be able to batten or line the internal sides to achieve the correct width as specified on the product page. If you have a restricted depth front to back, or lower height, there are many options with shorter fitting depths or lower heights. Remember, if it appears that your internal depth is not enough to fit the bin you’re interested in, it can be possible to remove the upper part of a back panel in order to free up more depth. How to Install In-Cupboard Bins for Cabinets with Hinged Doors Generally, the bins for cabinets with hinged doors are the simplest installations. Many of these bins have a metal frame which screws to the base of the cabinet, giving you some leeway as to where you position it within the width of the cupboard. These bins are very easy to fit, with most requiring just 4-6screws to hold the bin in place – when installed, you simply open the door and pull the bin out from the cabinet with the panel at the front. When pushed back in, the door then closes. As these models are self-contained units, each bin will fit any cabinet with the minimum designated width or wider. It’s worth noting that the largest capacity double compartment bins for hinged door cabinets are under the heading of ‘400mm hinged doors’ – these can fit cabinets of this size upwards. You could position the bin unit on one side of a wider cabinet and use the remaining space for extra storage. Each in-cupboard bin for cabinets with hinged doors comes with specific measurements, so you can get a good idea of how it will fit within your cupboard. We also have a selection of bins which attach to a hinged cabinet door and swing out when the door is opened, allowing for easy access. These bins tend to be cylindrical or in a rectangular shape to fit across the back of the door. Please check the space that you have inside the cupboard if looking at this type, as many have lids which stay inside the cupboard and the volume of the bin itself needs to swing back into the cabinet too. In-cupboard Bins for Hinged Door Cabinets Frequently Asked Questions We are often asked about these particular points: I have a 600mm or wider hinged door cabinet, what are my bin options? There is one Blanco bin model (pictured below shown under a sink) made to fit across a 600mm cabinet, but you can also fit any hinged door model by positioning it either in the centre or to one side of the cabinet (checking the depth and height of each model too). It can be possible to fit two bins for a 300mm cabinet into a 600mm unit, side by side. This method could offer up to 80 litres of capacity by fitting two 40L single bins, or perhaps one single and one double compartment bin, to create a 3 compartment recycling set up. How do the bin units fit round the hinges inside the cabinet? The product widths given for the bins which fix to the base of hinged door cabinets are measured at the maximum point, which is across the back of the lid. The height of these bins is designed to fit below the top hinge in most installations, and, at the bottom front of the bin, the combination of tapered bin containers and the open nature of the steel frame means that the units are designed to fit away from the bottom hinge in most common hinge sizes and designs. How to Install In-Cupboard Bins for Under-Sink Cabinets The same general fitting instructions as above will likely apply to bins for under-sink cabinets, with some additional considerations. If you are installing a bin in an under-sink cupboard, the bin you choose will need a lower height and shorter depth than other in-cupboard options as you’ll have to fit it in front of or below pipework and plumbing. This is why understanding the correct measurements is essential, whether you would like a pull-out door for your sink cabinet or whether the door will be on hinges. Where we say a product is in stock, it can be despatched within 1 or 2 days and our free next-day delivery means it won’t be long before you can fit your bin. Our in-cupboard bins are available for cabinet widths between 300 and 600mm (base units), and we also have bins to fit pan drawers, so there is a great choice of options but if you have a family or simply want to avoid taking the bins out too often, a 600mm cabinet is the ideal size to ensure you can install some of the largest capacity bins we have. If you are fitting your bin yourself, we suggest that Vauth-Sagel bins are one of the easiest brands to fit because they come complete with templates which you use against the cabinet sides and door to give all drilling and fixing positions. All fixings are included too, so all you need to supply is the cabinet, the door, a drill and screwdriver. VAUTH-SAGEL: full cabinet height An important point to check when choosing your Vauth-Sagel bin is the internal DEPTH that you have in your cabinet. This is because the taller models are available in a choice of two depths: 480mm depth is needed to fit the 85 litre models, and 515mm depth for the 91 litre models. Some customers remove a section of the cabinet back panel (as you might for access to a socket etc) to free up extra depth, but to keep your cabinet intact please check the model you need to fit your depth before ordering. Vauth-Sagel 85L and 91L bins use much of the full height of the cabinet with lids which are fixed to the cabinet sides, still giving you extra storage space for liners. papers etc. The ES-Pro 3-Compartment 85L Recycler has a generous 85 litre capacity made up of two 32 litre and one 21 litre inner buckets. This triple bin is 570mm high, meaning that it fits close to the top of the cabinet in most installations. It’s 476mm deep so will fit most standard cabinets. Available in a choice of Silver Grey or Lava Grey. If you have an extra deep cabinet you can make the most of this space with the ES-Pro 3-Compartment 91L Recycler which is 515mm deep, and has two 35 litre buckets and one 21 litre bucket. Available in a choice of Silver Grey or Lava Grey. VAUTH-SAGEL: Below drawer height There is a choice of Vauth-Sagel bins at 470mm high and 470mm deep, which have lids which pull out independently of the bin for improved access and to create an extra shelf in your cabinet. They can potentially be fitted below a drawer and are also ideal if you don’t have a 500mm deep cabinet or have pipework or a thicker back panel taking up depth. The ES-Pro 3-Compartment 53L Recycler has one 28L bucket and two of 12.5 L. The ES-Pro 2-Compartment 56L Recycler (two 28L buckets) and the ES-Pro 2-Compartment 60L Recycler (39L and 21L, useful if you create more recycling than waste or vice versa). All are available in both Silver Grey and we have just launched them in darker Lava Grey.   HAILO Hailo bins are another great choice if you’re fitting yourself at home, because they come with an excellent set of fitting instructions and all of the fixings you need. They are solidly built to last and again the range is divided into Euro Cargo models for the full height of the cabinet, and Cargo Synchro lower height models which can be fitted below drawers and potentially below sinks. Check your internal cabinet depth if you’re looking to fit the full-height Euro Cargo 90L In-cupboard recycler, as it is the deepest of all models for a 600mm cabinet, needing 515mm depth to fit. Two generous 38 litre heavy duty plastic inner buckets give you great capacity and there is also a 12L bin / caddy with its own lid and double handles, plus a handy 2.5L container which is useful for storing liners or as other kitchen storage. Available in light grey and dark grey finishes. The two Hailo Cargo Synchro models for a 600mm cabinet are both 424mm high and 405mm deep, making them a great choice for fitting below sinks or where you have restricted depth. An added feature is the sheet steel lid which has an independent sliding mechanism and a non-slip rubber mat on top, making it extra useful for storage of liners, cleaning materials etc. Choose the configuration of compartments to suit your recycling needs: the Cargo Synchro 56L recycler has two 28 litre bins, or the triple Cargo Synchro 54L recycler with one 28 Litre and two 13 Litre compartments (one with a lid - ideal for food waste).   GOLLINUCCI This innovative Italian range is again a great choice if you are fitting at home, supplied with all you need including very clear and simple instructions. The reason these bins are so popular with customers at home and with professional kitchen designers and fitters is that they offer great capacity of bin containers in a relatively compact depth, making fitting in most installations possible. Why do the Gollinucci bins have such great capacity? The answer is the fantastic design of the soft-close runners, made as slim and sleek as possible to create more width for the bin containers themselves. In the model for a 600mm unit, this means that two 40 litre bins can fit into a depth of only 458mm. Even if you don’t have restricted depth, the Gollinucci bins are worth fitting if you’d like to have individual lids on the bin containers included in the price, and you have the option of adding an overall cabinet-wide lid too. WESCO If you are a bit more used to measuring and marking out with accuracy in DIY projects, Wesco Pullboy Z soft-close bins can be fitted by customers at home or of course by a fitter or carpenter. They come with a set of runners and side panels called the Blum Tandembox and it is the combination of these two top German manufacturers coming together with the bin parts (Wesco) and the soft-close mechanism (Blum) which makes them such effective products but adds just a degree of complexity in fitting. WESCO: Full cabinet height From Wesco we have two extra large 80+ litre bins. The Wesco Pullboy-Z 827640-11 has two huge 40L inner buckets, and the Pullboy-Z 827618-11 has two 32L buckets plus two 10L ones. To help imagine these capacities, it’s worth remembering that 30 litres is the capacity of many single standard kitchen pedal bins. As an example, the 32L Wesco bucket is 53cm tall and the 40L is 50cm tall (40cm wide), so at around half a metre high these are great capacity buckets. With two hidden in your cabinet, this represents enough capacity for a family and for a smaller household would mean fewer trips to the wheelie bins. It’s not surprising that these are two of our most popular in-cupboard bins. Another of our most popular bins, the Wesco Pullboy-Z 828614-11, also features two of the 32L buckets. This product is significant because it is 576mm high but instead of the standard 500mm depth, it is 450mm deep making it a great choice for customers with pipework or a reduced depth cabinet. WESCO: Below drawer height The choice of Wesco Pullboy Z bins to fit in a 600mm cabinet below a drawer includes the 827616-11 which is 471mm high and has 72L of capacity across 4 buckets. For even lower fitting heights, the 827608-11 is 400mm high, meaning you could fit its 4 buckets with total 60L capacity below shelves or potentially a sink installation. A great pull-out option for 600mm sink units is the 829603-11N which is just 335mm high and 400mm deep, so it should clear pipework in most sink installations: please check your dimensions in-situ.   NINKA Ninka bins are supplied with many of the premium kitchens on the market including Siematic and we are pleased to bring you them to fit at home, whether you have a new kitchen or not. We do suggest that the fitting is best for experienced DIY-ers or by your kitchen fitter or carpenter: accuracy of measurement and precision in putting the parts together is needed but again we do supply extra fitting notes which we’ve produced only for Binopolis customers. Once fitted the Ninka bins are worth a little time taken to install them: the Ninka containers are particularly durable and strong and one particular model, the 84 litre is one of our best sellers because it gives you two 42 litre compartments. How to choose your built-in kitchen bin

Measuring your cabinet, plus solutions for non-standard cabinets, are covered in this first blog on the factors to consider when choosing your in-cupboard kitchen bin.  Our in-cupboard bins can be to retro-fitted into existing kitchen units or can be included as part of a new kitchen scheme.  At Binopolis we sell only premium quality brands such as Wesco, Hailo, Vauth-Sagel & Ninka as they combine great functionality with strong build quality and durability. Our range includes products that are suitable for cabinets with hinged or pull-out doors.  You just need to supply the cabinet and the door – we can provide everything else.  Choosing the right bin takes some working out and checking in advance. It’s worth taking a bit of time on this, and we’re always happy to help, so that what you order will fit! The starting point is obviously the cabinet size, so in this first blog on how to choose your in-cupboard bin, we’re looking at measurement and some of the more specific considerations for more unusual cabinets. Measuring your cabinet Measuring your cabinet starts with the door: check if it’s pull-out or on hinges and then measure the external width across the door. You then need to check three further internal dimensions: Internal width (from one side of the cabinet to the other).   The internal width is normally 30-40mm less than the external cabinet width, depending on what the carcass is made of. Our bins for pull-out doors are based on soft-close runners which need to fit to certain widths, usually 38mm less then the door width (based on 19mm carcass material). If the carcass is made from 16mm material, you can use spacers or a piece of hardboard etc very firmly battened to one or both sides, to create the optimum width. If you have a non-standard pull-out door cabinet, it is still possible to batten the sides with thicker material as ling as it’s very firmly fixed to keep the runners and bin level and to cope with years of movement and the weight of the potential contents. Bins for hinged doors are free-standing self contained units which don’t fit to the cabinet sides, so you have some leeway in which bins will fit your cabinet width. You can fill the cabinet width with the bin, or alternatively position the bin over to one side to leave space for other storage. 600mm hinged door cabinets can sometimes hold two narrow bins side by side. Internal height Our In-cupboard bins are available in a range of heights from 320mm to 590mm.  A typical kitchen unit is 680mm high and the larger capacity bins need to use the full height of a cabinet.  Bin units below 530mm in height will generally fit in a cabinet below a drawer and units below 370mm below cabinets with two drawers (but please check you measurements carefully as every unit is different). Internal depth Our in-cupboard  bins fit a range of cabinet depths from 330mm upwards (although our shortest depth bin is only 220mm deep – ideal for under sinks, fitting in-front of pipework). Most cabinets are around 500mm deep but can vary between 450mm and 600mm.  Please check the depth of your cupboard before ordering and ensure there is sufficient depth.   In tight situations it is often possible to remove the top section of the back panel of a cabinet, providing those few precious extra few millimetres to accommodate the bin mechanism. This is particularly useful to know if your 500mm deep cabinet has an internal depth nearer to 490mm after having a 10mm back panel fitted.     Other special situations Inline cabinets If you have an in-line cabinet, the door fits into a frame and the frame is narrower than the internal sides of the cabinet.  In-line cabinets pose some additional requirements for in-cupboard bins – for in-line cabinets with hinged doors you may need to build up the floor so the bin clears any lip; for in-line cabinets with pull-out doors you will almost certainly need to build out the sides internally, so that the internal sides and ‘exit’ from the cabinet are the same width: please call us if you need help on this. Sink cabinets For many customers fitting a bin below a sink unit is an obvious place to fit an in-cupboard bin.  However, pipework and U-bends can pose special challenges.  Choosing a low height unit will minimise any fitting limitations, but you may need a bin which is both short in depth and low in height. Because of this limited space, bins below sinks are great in compact kitchens or if you have a small household, but note that they are often not large enough to be the main receptacle for a family’s waste and recycling. The next steps in choosing the right in-cupboard kitchen bin Once you’ve established the internal space you can allocate for the bin in a new kitchen design, or have measured an existing cabinet you have for the bin, there are a few other considerations, including capacity, number of compartments and the brand or design to choose. Choose the right bin for your cabinet Start by measuring the width on the outside of the door. We have products for 300, 400, 450, 500 or 600mm cabinet widths. The width of the products themselves is based on the external cabinet width minus 2 x the thickness of the carcass material, which is usually between 16-19mm as standard. This means that for example a bin for a 600mm cabinet will measure 562-568mm wide, and take up the total width of the inside of the cabinet. Then check the height you have available for a bin. If you have most of the height of the cabinet free, you can fit the XXLiner bins which are the tallest at 570mm high when installed. These tall bins have a steel lid which is fixed to the cabinet sides and if it is around 10cm lower than the worktop, you'll still have enough space to use it as a shelf for liners etc.  Alternatively if you have a drawer above the bin, or if it's below the sink, look at the Oko Liner range which are 470mm high. These Oko liner bins have a lid on sliding runners which can be pulled out independently over the bins to act as a useful shelf. The lid is shown in action in the video on the product page. Check the depth you have for the bin: the standard depths taken up by the Vauth-Sagel bins is 470mm (Oko Liner range) or 476mm (some of the XXLiner range), both a great fit for 500mm deep cabinets.  New to our Vauth-Sagel range are bins for deeper cabinets, needing 515mm depth. These are the XXLiner 91L bin for 600mm cabinets, and the two slimline XXLIner bins for 300mm and 400mm cabinets. How many compartments do you need? All of our in-cupboard bins will transform your cabinet into a top quality built-in bin, but if you have a 600mm cabinet you can fit a bin with the most generous capacity.  If you're getting ready for guests over Easter, are working on a new kitchen or are planning some kitchen DIY during the holiday, Easter is the perfect time to order and fit a built-in bin which will magically hide your waste and free up floor space. In-cupboard bins can be retro-fitted into an existing kitchen, or planned in at the design stage, and our customers love the transformative effect they can have in hiding away copious amounts of recycling and waste, leaving a streamlined and organised kitchen. WESCO: Full cabinet height From Wesco we have two extra large 84 litre bins. The 827642-11 has two huge 42L inner buckets, and the 827618-11 has two 32L buckets plus two 10L ones. To help imagine these capacities, it’s worth remembering that 30 litres is the capacity of many single standard kitchen bins (usually the cylindrical type).  As an example, the 32L Wesco bucket is 53cm tall and the 42L is 50cm tall (45cm wide), so at around half a metre high these are great capacity buckets. With two hidden in your cabinet, this represents enough capacity for a family and for a smaller household would mean fewer trips to the wheelie bins. It’s not surprising that these are two of our most popular in-cupboard bins. The 827618-52 has an 80L capacity across 4 buckets and its key difference is that it’s black and white to match other Blum Intivo fittings, or simply to compliment your kitchen styling. Another of our most popular bins, the Wesco 828614-11, also features two of the 32L buckets. This product is significant because it is 576mm high, as the largest bins, but instead of the standard 500mm depth, it is 450mm deep making it a great choice for customers with pipework or a reduced depth cabinet. Bins with a height of 576mm take up much of the height of a standard cabinet, but the lids on both Wesco and Vauth-Sagel bins are strong enough to use as a shelf for liners, papers etc so the space at the top of your cabinet is not wasted. The bins can also be fitted high up in the cabinet (as long as the weight on the door is balanced), for easy access from the worktop. WESCO: Below drawer height The choice of bins to fit in a 600mm cabinet below a drawer includes the 827616-11 which is 471mm high and has 72L of capacity across 4 buckets. For even lower fitting heights, the 827608-11 is 400mm high, meaning you could fit its 60L capacity below shelves. A great pull-out option for 600mm sink units is the 832604-85 which is just 330mm high and also 450mm deep, so it should clear pipework in most sink installations. VAUTH-SAGEL: Full cabinet height Vauth-Sagel is another German manufacturer with typical solid build quality. Their Oko Liner bins have a sleek contemporary look and unique innovations including an ‘easy-fit’ soft-close runner system with steel lids which can be used as a shelf. In this way one Vauth-Sagel Oko Liner creates both a bin and a storage shelf in your cupboard.  Of the 5 Vauth-Sagel bins for 600mm cabinets, the XX liner 85L X600 is our largest capacity in-cupboard bin, with a fantastic 85 litres made up of two 32 litre and one 21 litre inner buckets. This triple bin is 570mm high, meaning that it fits close to the top of the cabinet in most installations, making the most of your cabinet space.  New to our range is the XXliner 91L X600, which needs a minimum of 515mm internal cabinet depth to fit. This increased size gives you two 35L inner buckets plus one 21L, making this our largest capacity for a 600mm wide cabinet. VAUTH-SAGEL: Below drawer height The other 3 Vauth-Sagel bins for 600mm cabinets are all 470mm high and 470mm deep, so they can be fitted below a drawer and are also ideal if you don’t have a 500mm deep cabinet or have pipework or a thicker back panel taking up depth. The K 600-3 Maxi has one 28L bucket and two of 12.5 L. The K 600 Maxi (two 28L buckets) and the K 600 Maxi-2 (39L and 21L, useful if you create more recycling than waste or vice versa) complete the choice of 600mm pull-out cabinet bins. These lower height bins have the benefit of a retractable lid making access easier.  HINGED DOORS It's worth remembering that the bins for Hinged doors can be fitted in wider cabinets if you want to place a bin on one side and a water filter, heater or more storage on the other side.   All of our Wesco bins for hinged doors will fit into the width of a 600mm cabinet, but check the depth and height of each product particularly if you have pipework to work around. A good example of this is the Wesco Shorty 757411-85 which will fit a 500mm cabinet, but in a 600mm cabinet will leave useful space to one side for wirework shelves or simply for standing washing and cleaning materials.  For a 600mm hinged door cabinet made from standard 16-19mm material, you can also make great use of the internal width for two large single bins, such as the Big Boy 40L Waste bin 755640-85, which would give you 80L of generous capacity. Inspired by the trend for wide, deep pan drawers, our latest products are sleek and streamlined in-drawer waste and recycling systems from Swiss manufacturer Peka, the latest brand to join the Binopolis portfolio of the highest quality, design-led integrated bins on the market.  The Peka systems can be used within your existing drawer space with your own drawer front. The width of the products themselves is based on the external cabinet width minus 2 x the thickness of the carcass material, which is usually between 16-19mm as standard. This means that for example a bin for a 600mm cabinet will measure 562-568mm wide, and take up the total width of the inside of the cabinet. Then check the height you have available for a bin. If you have most of the height of the cabinet free, you can fit the XXLiner bins which are the tallest at 570mm high when installed. These tall bins have a steel lid which is fixed to the cabinet sides and if it is around 10cm lower than the worktop, you'll still have enough space to use it as a shelf for liners etc. Alternatively if you have a drawer above the bin, or if it's below the sink, look at the Oko Liner range which are 470mm high. WESCO: FULL CABINET HEIGHT It’s not surprising that the Wesco Bio Double 64L 789611-85 is one of our best-selling in-cupboard bins: it’s the largest capacity bin we sell for a 400mm pull-out door and fits two large 32L inner buckets into the full height of the cabinet, making the best possible use of the space. It runs on top quality, smooth running ball-bearing runners built to handle up to 30KG of weight. This excellent customer review on our Feefo feedback site sums it up: "This bin assembly is a perfect fit for a Howdens 400mm base unit and glides in and out smoothly. The two containers are of a generous size (only slightly less than a normal swing bin) and easy to remove for emptying and cleaning. To help imagine these capacities, it’s worth remembering that 30 litres is the capacity of many single standard kitchen bins (usually the cylindrical type). As an example, the 32L Wesco bucket is 53cm tall (30cm wide), so at around half a metre high these are great capacity buckets.  Bins with a height of 576mm take up much of the height of a standard cabinet, but the lids on both Wesco and Vauth-Sagel bins are strong enough to use as a shelf for liners, papers etc so the space at the top of your cabinet is not wasted. The bins can also be fitted high up in the cabinet (as long as the weight on the door is balanced), for easy access from the worktop. WESCO: BELOW DRAWER HEIGHT The choice of bins to fit in a 400mm cabinet below the drawer line includes the 827416-11 is 471mm high and has 36L of capacity across 26L and 10L buckets. For even lower fitting heights, the 827408-11 is 400mm high, meaning you could fit its 30L capacity below shelves.  VAUTH-SAGEL The Vauth-Sagel Oko Liner 20L 503.04.503 for a 400mm cabinet is unique in having both low height and depth, making it perfect for difficult installations below or in front of pipework, columns etc. At 370mm high and 470mm deep, it can be fitted below a drawer and is also ideal if you have a thicker back panel taking up depth. Like the other lower height Vauth-Sagel bins it has the benefit of a retractable steel lid which acts as a pull-out shelf. HINGED DOORS It's worth remembering that Wesco bins for Hinged doors are designed as self-contained ‘frame’ units, ready to simply screw into the cabinet base. This means they can be positioned flexibly and fitted in wider cabinets if you want to place a bin on one side and a water filter, heater or more storage on the other side.   Some of the most useful and effective Wesco bins for hinged doors will fit into the width of a 400mm cabinet, but check the depth and height of each product particularly if you have pipework to work around.  Two of our most popular bins for Hinged doors are the Wesco Big Bio Double bins which, as their name suggests, are the largest capacity ‘frame’ bins for 400mm cabinets. They are the 52L 757811-85, which has two generous 26L inner buckets and a height of 465mm, which should fit below most drawers. The 64L 757812-85 is a similar design but is 565mm high, meaning it fits two 32L inner buckets into the majority of the cabinet height. Triple compartment bins are so useful if you need to separate your recycling and waste into three sections: all can be neatly sorted and hidden away in the cabinet. The Trio Master 787821-85 has one 16L and two 8L buckets, and with a height of 320mm this is a very popular bin for fitting triple recycling separation into a compact cabinet space. The larger capacity Bio Trio 757721-85 bin takes up 385mm of height and has one 20L and two 10L buckets. One happy customer reports “I purchased the largest unit I could fit in the cupboard and am very pleased with it as a smaller one would not have worked so well with a family of 5.  The clutter is now hide-able but when we are cooking/cleaning we leave it open to fire everything in as we go. Christmas Project: fit an in-cupboard kitchen recycling bin

Now's the time to order one of our top quality bins to be ready for guests or if you're planning to do some home improvement over the festive season (last delivery of In-cupboard products is December 23rd, resuming on January 6th!).  With recycling options, smooth soft close, extra strong build quality and a wide range to cover standard cabinet sizes, our Wesco and Vauth-Sagel bins can be added to your new build or retrofitted into existing cabinets. They have a transformative effect in the kitchen, turning a cabinet into a hidden bin to free up floor space and hide your waste. If you think you haven’t got enough cupboard space to devote to a bin, even a narrow 300mm cabinet can be converted into a recycling bin, as this kitchen shows. If you can devote a cabinet like this to a bin you can have up to 42 litres of recycling capacity ingeniously hidden inside it. Hidden bins help to keep the streamlined look of your kitchen, and also help to keep pets out of the bin. I think the cat here is trying to work out where the bin is! Another clever space saving option is to use the area under your sink. The Wesco Shorty Low Level In-cupboard recycler is designed specifically to fit below most sink plumbing, with a height of only 345mm. If you use it in a 500 or 600mm cabinet, you’ll still have space to the side for cleaning materials.  If you're in the process of planning or fitting a new kitchen, you can give some thought to the capacity of bin you will need and allocate a cabinet to it. Although the bins are designed with standard cabinet sizes in mind, it's often possible to fit a free-standing bin into a non-standard cupboard. Check the internal depth and height of the cabinet and avoid plumbing or other obstructions. The bin dimensions given on the product pages are all for the dimensions of the bin itself when fitted into the cupboard- the volume it takes up - so you can see accurately if it will fit your cupboard space. When you're choosing an in-cupboard bin, start by measuring the external width of the cabinet, then refer to our Buying Guide to In-cupboard bins for a list of products for Pull out or Hinged doors. The simplest products have a metal frame which screws to the base of the cabinet and gives some tolerance on where to position the frame within the cupboard width. These products are generally for hinged doors. For pull-out doors, we have 3 products which combine frames screwed to the cabinet base and door, plus the large capacity 64 litre Wesco 789611-85 which has side runners to attach to the inside of a 400mm cabinet, plus door fixing. Other products for pull-out doors are based on soft-close 'drawer' runner systems to give you extra smooth operation and up to 30Kg load bearing performance. This is important when you consider the weight of full bins, especially at larger capacity, being moved in and out many times a day for years. Cheaper products don't often survive this workload, which is why we don't sell them! We have two ranges of In-cupboard bins based on soft-close runners, both designed to fit exactly into standard cupboard widths, assuming that they're built using either 16mm or 19mm wide MDF or wood: spacers are provided to give some tolerance. Vauth-Sagel Oeko Liner bins come as a complete kit including a unique design of side panels housing self and soft close runners. These bins are 470mm deep which means there is no problem fitting them in a standard 500mm deep cabinet, and you may be abkle to fit in front of pipework or cabling. These are based on a Blum Tandembox drawer unit which needs to be ordered with the bin: the checkout system will add the correct one for you and both bin and Tandembox will be delivered together. The Tandembox takes over the operation of the opening and closing of the cabinet, using Blum's Blumotion soft-close mechanism for smooth and silent running. The bins pull out on runners which are fixed to the sides of the cabinet casing, and the bin framework attaches to the door. Wesco From Wesco we have the largest capacity in-cupboard bins we sell, both at 84 litres. The 827642-11 has two huge 42L inner buckets, and the 827618-11 has two 32L buckets plus two 10L ones. To help imagine these capacities, it’s worth remembering that 30 litres is the capacity of many single standard kitchen bins (usually the cylindrical type).  As an example, the 32L Wesco bucket is 53cm tall and the 42L is 50cm tall (45cm wide), so at around half a metre high these are great capacity buckets. With two hidden in your cabinet, this represents enough capacity for a family and for a smaller household would mean fewer trips to the wheelie bins. It’s not surprising that these are two of our most popular in-cupboard bins. The 827618-52 has an 80L capacity across 4 buckets and its key difference is that it’s black and white to match other Blum Intivo fittings, or simply to compliment your kitchen styling. This product is significant because it is 576mm high, as the largest bins, but instead of the standard 500mm depth, it is 450mm deep making it a great choice for customers with pipework or a reduced depth cabinet. Bins with a height of 576mm take up much of the height of a standard cabinet, but the lids on both Wesco and Vauth-Sagel bins are strong enough to use as a shelf for liners, papers etc so the space at the top of your cabinet is not wasted. The bins can also be fitted high up in the cabinet (as long as the weight on the door is balanced), for easy access from the worktop. The choice of bins to fit in a 600mm cabinet below a drawer includes the 827616-11 which is 471mm high and has 72L of capacity across 4 buckets. For even lower fitting heights, the 827608-11 is 400mm high, meaning you could fit its 60L capacity below shelves. A great pull-out option for 600mm sink units is the 832604-85 which is just 330mm high and also 450mm deep, so it should clear pipework in most sink installations. Vauth-Sagel Vauth-Sagel is another German manufacturer with typical solid build quality. Their Oeko Liner bins have a sleek contemporary look and unique innovations including an ‘easy-fit’ soft-close runner system and steel lids on independent runners, which can be used as a shelf to pull out when the cabinet is open. In this way one Vauth-Sagel Oeko Liner creates  both a bin and a storage shelf in your cupboard.  Of the 4 Vauth-Sagel bins for 600mm cabinets, the XX liner X600 is our largest capacity in-cupboard bin, with a fantastic 85 litres made up of two 32 litre and one 21 litre inner buckets. This triple bin is 570mm high, meaning that it fits into the top of the cabinet in most installations, making the most of your cabinet space. The other 3 Vauth-Sagel bins for 600mm cabinets are all 470mm high and 470mm deep, so they can be fitted below a drawer and are also ideal if you don’t have a 500mm deep cabinet or have pipework or a thicker back panel taking up depth. 300mm wide cabinet? Choose from 12 In-cupboard bins to free up floor space and hide away your waste: make the most of all your cupboard space.  Our In-cupboard bins are available for all standard cabinet widths, but our 300mm range is very popular with customers in city apartments to country cottages, and all compact kitchens in between!  Five of the 300mm bins are for pull-out doors, including the Bio Double 36L which gives you great capacity in a small space, and the extra durable Stainless Steel recycler, both based on self-contained frame units which are simply fixed to the base of the cabinet and then to the door.   The other Pull-out options are two 300AZ Recyclers, unique in using a Blum soft-close drawer unit in the base of the cabinet with two copious buckets standing on a platform. These recycling bins are mostly 30L in capacity, but the Big Bio Double is 36L due to its extra height at 465mm - you have a 26L and a 10L bucket which is great for food waste recycling.  The 300mm cabinet range also includes two single-bucket bins, which many of our customers use in conjunction with either a free-standing bin or a compost pail, if they need to seperate their recycling and rubbish. The 32L Bio Single bin is 570mm high and 330mm deep, so it can fit in front of pipework, sockets etc. The Big Boy Waste bin is 40L which is achieved by using a depth of 450mm which will fit most standard cabinets. It's worth remembering that the bins for Hinged doors can also be fitted in wider cabinets if you want to place a bin on one side and a water filter or more storage on the other side. Emma   Our reply is typical of how we like to help customers and how we know our products in detail: Hi Emma Fair question! The differences are: 1. the Double Boy Deluxe has different side runners, with ball-bearings within a double casing of steel. These are the runners used on the larger bins of this type and give a smooth action, even if there is a considerable weight in the bins. The Deluxe is also larger in overall dimensions, taller at 410mm and deeper at 460mm (although the width is similar). The frame holding the buckets is a little stronger and deeper too. The capacity of the buckets is the same at 30L, although the buckets are a taller shape. 2. The Double Boy is lower in height and is great for under sinks at 388mm high and 450mm deep. It is still strongly built as all Wesco products are, but is made for a slightly lower price point by using simpler ‘slide’ runners without ball bearings. These still run perfectly smoothly (especially as the buckets and contents are not likely to be heavy), but they are really a one-piece component rather than a two-piece hence the cost difference. The Wesco Pullboy Z Range of In-Cupboard Kitchen Bins

If you thought Integrated bins only came with new fitted kitchens, think again: you can retro-fit one of our In-Cupboard kitchen recycling bins into your existing cabinets! The Pullboy Z range of integrated bins from Wesco is a premium quality, beautifully designed solution for kitchen cupboards which have pull-out doors - the drawer unit fixes to the back of the door and when you pull open the door the bins slide out for use and then hide away when you push the door to.  The range of Pullboy Z units we offer are available to fit a range of door sizes:  300mm; 400mm; 450mm; 500mm  and 600mm wide and in a range of sizes – from 20 Litres up to 84 Litres capacity with 2,3 or 4 compartments depending on the model.  The critical choice is to choose a unit that fits your cupboard door – the width in the description refers to the outer width of the door and then an allowance of 16-19mm  is made for the thickness of the carcass on each side in supplying the actual unit.  The other key measurement is the height which can vary between 400mm and 576mm depending on the door width and capacity chosen.  The Pullboy Z range is designed to work with a Blum Tandembox Drawer unit.  This fixes to either side of the kitchen cabinet and provides the mechanism for the waste unit to glide in and out of the cupboard.  All the Pullboy Z units we sell come supplied with this Blum unit and the cost is built-in to our price – although if for some reason you do not need it (perhaps if you are replacing an existing unit) then we can adjust the price for you to exclude it.  Just call us on 023 8097 0230 before you order and we will make the necessary adjustment to your order.  Fitting is relatively easy for any reasonably competent DIY enthusiast - the key requirement being to get the Blum Tandembox at the same height and level on both sides.  Full fitting instructions are provided and we are happy to supply a copy of these in advance if you need them.  The Pullboy Z unit itself is made of powder coated steel in a quality German-engineered frame and when used with the Blum Tandembox provides a ‘soft-close’ facility meaning no banging drawers!  The unit comes with a steel lid which covers up any waste and keeps it discreetly hidden.  If you have any extra height in your kitchen unit you can store things like liners or newspapers on top of the lid.  The bins themselves are in alugrey plastic with plastic carry handles so removing them is easy – larger bins come with double handles for extra strength.  To see our full range of Pullboy-Z bins click here. At Binopolis we carry a great range of in-cupboard kitchen bins designed to hide away waste and rubbish in built-in kitchens.  Most in-cupboard bins in our range have recycling features with 2, 3 or 4 compartments. These bins are designed for use in either cupboards with hinged doors or for use in cupboards with pull-out doors.  For cupboards with hinged doors the units are built in a frame which is fixed to the floor of the unit and then after opening the door you can just pull out the bin on a set of runners.  One of our bins features and automatic opening feature (The Wesco  Automatic Master-Boy 30L Recycler).  If you space is really tight under the sink then take a look at the Wesco Shorty. For cupboards with pull-out doors there is a choice between using a frame unit or a unit where the runners fit to each side of the cabinet.   This latter type fit the cabinets exactly so it is important to make the right choice.  The size is guided by the out cabinet size and fittings included make allowance for carcasses between 16-19mm thick.  These units use a Blum Tandembox Drawer unit to glide in and out of the cupboard and we include the cost of these in our pricing (note: other suppliers charge extra for these).
