Bonfire night: Hot trends for your home

Bonfire night: Hot trends for your home

Remember, remember the 5th of November... We show you how to bring a rich autumn palette from bonfire night into your home

Be creative with colour

As red dominated the autumn/winter fashion shows, it’s no wonder a more muted version of this fiery colour has made its way onto our interiors wish-list. One of this season’s hottest colour trends, it seems this rich shade is perfect for a piece of furniture. Or why not add our design-led, premium bin to your kitchen for a fireworks night style statement?

In addition, we adore emerald green as it’s such a deep, vibrant and opulent colour. It's no wonder this has come back with a vengeance and, as a result, has become one of the most popular colour choices this season. Once the Pantone colour of the year in 2013, why not use this shade as your base colour and work around it with steely greys? We think it makes the perfect choice for bringing a touch of the outside in. It will also add a little reminder of the luscious green tones you probably will encounter from evergreen trees in your park on bonfire night.

Material matters

Most of all, this season is all about texture and velvet has become a firm favourite for us. Luxuriously soft, the vogue for velvet has returned for only the best dressed homes. It seems like this sumptuous fabric has come straight off the catwalk into our homes. You can even enjoy burnt orange hues for a hint of autumnal fireworks fun.

Brass is back this year and a few well-chosen pieces can instantly add warmth to your home. Due to it being a timeless metal, we think it’s worth investing in because it will stand the test of time. Warm gold tones are definitely in and you can bring a statement piece of furniture in this colour into a room for a glamorous finish.

Statement lighting

Fireworks night is all about lighting up the sky with spectacular colour. So we just had to embrace the trend for statement lights in the home. Artistic pendants have definitely caught our eye this season and interior designers are being more extravagant when placing lighting around the home. This fresh wave of interior inspiration provides an exciting finishing touch to home trends for autumn winter.
